More work in the garden

The outside of the house has been on hold for the winter but now spring has arrived and rapidly become what we hope is a good hot summer, it's time to get cracking. John is hoping for a simple make over to get some sort of semblance of order! Liz hopefully is on the same page! So this year has started with the beds adjacent to our house - under our bedroom window has been cleared, replanted and the path simplified and moved.
Round the corner at the far end of the house (which gets a surprising amount of sun from midmorning to evening) Liz is making a vegetable / herb bed and we've removed about a ton of rubble and stones plus a slab of concrete. Lord alone knows what was going on there. The bed now houses thyme, sage, coriander, strawberries, rosemary, french beans and a cucumber plant. Now keeping them watered and hoping for some useful edibles later in the year.
There's a ton more to do and it's exhausting for both of us. A new mower has been purchased which self-drives and the garden fork replaced as it snapped like a carrot on a root! John's built a compost bin out of pallets to try and contain all the grass clippings, but it'll take more than that, I think. There's also gallons of exterior render paint if anyone fancies a week of doing that in exchange for cash, bed and breakfast!
